use it very lightly and far away from your head then u can either scrunch or braid or twist but i recomend using surf hair instead of hair spray

after you wash your hair, put gel on your hands, then scrunch your hair all over. If you dont want that gel hard feeling, do it before you sleep...hope that helps!
