In the 1980s, how much hair spray did you use? What color did you ever dye your hair?

I went full purple once and had to wash my hair with Tide to try to get the color out. It didn't help much.

As for hairspray, good grief! It took most of my allowance to keep my hair looking BIG. I sprunched and sprayed for an hour in the mornings. My mullet was always well glued into place. I love to watch "Working Girl" just to look at Melanie Griffith's big hair!

I used a ton! I'm so glad I don't do that to my hair anymore. I had my hair blond for a while, and once I had some purple streaks in it.

Aqua Net ( 1 can a week) had the platinum blonde thing back then a time or two.

I was too young in the 80's to do that... I started the hairspray and dying my hair in the 90's

used quite a bit when the big bangs thing was in. i have had blonde streaks, totally black and some weird orange color which i think came from too much sun-in
